City College Plymouth welcomed as SET Corporate Partner

The Society for Education and Training (SET) is delighted to welcome City College Plymouth as a new Corporate Partner.

The college has committed to 300 SET memberships for its teaching staff. With these memberships, staff will benefit from a valuable range of professional development opportunities, including access to exclusive content, research, webinars, and events.

In operation since 1887 and with over 12,000 students, both national and international, City College Plymouth is now one of the leading providers of vocational, professional and technical Further Education (FE) training in the South West.

Jackie Grubb, Chief Executive/Principal, of City College Plymouth, said:

“We are delighted to join the Society for Education and Training as a Corporate Partner. Investing in our staff and their professional development is a top priority, as we strive to drive innovation, build collaborations and provide a high-quality learning experience for all of our students, promoting learning without limits.”

SET is the only professional membership body dedicated to teachers and trainers working in FE. As new SET members, City College Plymouth teachers will be joining the largest professional network of teachers and trainers in the FE sector, with opportunities to share expertise and experience with their peers.

Martin Reid, Director of SET, said:

“After working with City College Plymouth in a variety of ways, we are delighted to now welcome the group as a SET Corporate Partner. This partnership provides teaching staff with access to a host of expertise and resources and CPD opportunities, including enabling them to study for both Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) and Advanced Teacher Status (ATS). We look forward to supporting our new members at City College Plymouth in striving for excellence in their professional journey.”

City College Plymouth will become a SET Corporate Partner in November 2021, as part of its commitment to the investment and development of its teaching staff.
